book club...

I read my first book for book club.

It's pretty amazing since I hadn't been motivated to read for a long time. It's not that I don't like to read but I love to blog surf, create, and watch t.v. I wish there was more time to read because I could really get sucked into books like I used to but other things seem to relax me more these days.

I got a Kindle and I can download any book I want any time I want. Andy and I are going to split it and take turns reading our books and newspapers...although what's going to happen when he travels?

Our meeting was a blast. It was 5 other women whom I never knew before which was really great spending time with people who I don't know and speaking on a different level. I made everyone a book mark but of course I didn't take pictures of them...seriously- I need to remember to DOCUMENT!

The book we read was fantastic! It's called Firefly Lane by Kristen Hannah. It's about a relationship between two unlikely girls in the 70's, who meet when one of the girls moves next door. We follow their relationship for decades and watch them learn, love, and leave this earth. All the women in the group loved the book and could relate to at least something in this book. It's a great book club read but it's super long, so make sure you start right away.
