proud mama moment

Lola had a state-wide piano test today at Bethel College. Parents were not allowed in the judging rooms, it private test with a judge and Lola in a room together.

The competition is open to kids 7 years in older and they compete against kids in their age group. Lola was not 7 years old yet so she got to go and play and she had a chance to experience what it felt like and what to expect in the years to come.

We received this letter from the judge who Lola performed for. Bella our piano teacher told us that kids don't receive letters like this but Lola made such an impression on the Judge that she was compelled to send it to us.

Not only did Lola do such a great job but she won in her age division!!!!!

We have worked hard this past 1 1/2 years with piano and it has been so worth it to not only me but to my little pianist. I'm a very proud mama today and I hope that Lola goes on impressing audiences everywhere.

house envy

The Esquire House (2007) in the Hills of California. Every year renowned high end designers are invited to create the ultimate bachelor pad. I prefer a bit of masculine design in my home. It's a bit sleeker, richer, and more plush then a home designed for women.
Porta Bella Design for TAG Heuer
Sami Hayek for Louis Vuitton
Natalie Addis for Ray-Ban
Woodson & Rummerfield's House of Design for Versace

Campion Platt for Hugo Boss

Michael Lin for DKNY

style envy...

Giovanna Battaglia is a smashing beauty which was once a former Dolce and Gabbana house and runway model and now L'Uomo Vogue editor. Her timeless chic has landed her all over major fashion houses. She is seen in fashion blogs, parties, and sitting in a lot of front rows of runway shows. She is elegant and sophisticated, hot, cool, and uber stylish! I want to spend the weekend with her. She is one of my favorites.

Giovanna seamlessly combines elegant, classic looks with slightly off-kilter originality. Sometimes that comes in the form of an over the knee boot or bright yellow pant tempered with a ladylike fur, demure black tights or simple gray turtleneck sweater.

It's also refreshing to see that the fashion powerhouse repeats (gasp!) certain items. Her Chanel boots, structured bags, long gloves and many other staples are on regular, yet inspirational, rotation.

dress for pre-k success

(via pinterest.com)
I think I am going to redo my kids closets. This is what I am going to start dressing my little fashionista's like. Why can't there be a Zara store near by. I don't even know if this is from Zara because it didn't specify on someone's pinterest ping (so annoying).

I love this look for the winter, I wish we lived in an area like S.F. that had a mild winter so I didn't have to dress my babes in a 15 layers, gloves, hats, etc. Sasha calls her gloves GLOBS, do you think I should correct her? Naw...so darn cute.

Have a stylish day!
