best friends

Today I've been thinking about my friends and what they mean to me and how much I need them in my life. I have a handful of besties in town and a handful out of town. I try and talk to my girlies everyday and see a few of them at least once a week. Since the girls have started school I have made a few new friendships thru the girls and it's been great. I've made it a point to try and make a few new friends a year and surprisingly the few women I have met in the last few years have been so wonderful and I realize how my kids have become the vessels for my new encounters.

"Never shall I forget the days I spent with you. Continue to be my friend, as you will always find me yours." - Ludwig van Beethoven

too long

It's been such a long time since I've posted. Life has been busy, the kids have been sick, Andy and I have been working on designing a house, I've been volunteering, life is busy as usual.

We decided to build a house after searching the lake area, and realizing that there isn't anything fabulous for us out here. It's expensive, the lots aren't private, and if you tear down a house in the Orono area yo have to rebuild in the old home's footprint. Not really interested in the trouble. I'm so happy mr. fabulous has decided to build a dream house for us!

So many plans to make- I don't even know where to begin! How can such a fun and extiting time be filled with stress and way too many decisions.

I've been thinking of my favorite colors, styles, textures and what I want this house to look like and feel like. I want my home to be the center of all the fun- parties, book clubs, playdates, poker games, holiday's, game nights, etc. I want our house to be comfortable, sexy, and styled.

I'm going to need this lonely blog more then ever- posting all my favs...get ready for house project overload!

baby's breath

A light, airy texture, and petite white flower. Baby's Breath is an annual flower that blooms for only 6 weeks. This beauty is a relative to a carnation and is so wonderful in bouquets, little jars, boutonnieres, and just about any other way you can think of is making a big comeback. I went on online and found hundreds of gorgeous new brides using it in arrangements. Love it.

hearting maxi skirts

It's no secret that I love wearing dresses and skirts. I've always said the shorter the better. But these days as I've become a woman of 40, I have discovered something fabulous and that is a maxi skirt. I bought my first maxi a few weeks ago at Anthropology. I have yet to wear it because I have no shoes to go with it but believe me that will change. What do we wear with a pleated peach skirt?

sweet sunshine and convertible rides

sweet sunshine and convertable rides
First really nice day for a ride with the top down. This is the first year that both girls got to go for a ride together in Andy's car, now that Sasha is out of her big car seat. They laughed about nothing and it led to Andy and I both laughing with them all the way home. I love lazy sunday's with nothing to do but laugh... I hope we'll have a great summer for cruising.

last day of school

last day of school for <span class=

It was a great year for Sasha and I am so happy that she loved her school and made some really great new friends. Going to Bet Shalom has been an ok experience, I didn't like it as much as I liked Beth El where Lola went. The director is a bit clueless and not very friendly, I excepted so much more out of someone who is leading the school and all of the activities for the year.

I loved the fact that we sent the kids to Jewish school's because it was the best place for them to get a start on learning about Judaism and all the traditions. I really want them to have a nice circle of Jewish friends that they can grow up with- go to sunday school, hebrew school, and camp with. I love the fact that every week Sasha had Friday shabbot services and she learned how to recite the prayers and sing all the songs. They were taught hebrew, learned about the holiday's, and made hamantaschen for Purim.

I'm really going to miss that the most next year when Sasha goes to a different school.

I know that Sasha has made some really nice friends and her bestie this year has been Jada and her crush has been Max. I hope we can have a lot of play dates this summer so we don't forget about all the first friends Sasha has made.
