sweet sunshine and convertible rides

sweet sunshine and convertable rides
First really nice day for a ride with the top down. This is the first year that both girls got to go for a ride together in Andy's car, now that Sasha is out of her big car seat. They laughed about nothing and it led to Andy and I both laughing with them all the way home. I love lazy sunday's with nothing to do but laugh... I hope we'll have a great summer for cruising.

last day of school

last day of school for <span class=

It was a great year for Sasha and I am so happy that she loved her school and made some really great new friends. Going to Bet Shalom has been an ok experience, I didn't like it as much as I liked Beth El where Lola went. The director is a bit clueless and not very friendly, I excepted so much more out of someone who is leading the school and all of the activities for the year.

I loved the fact that we sent the kids to Jewish school's because it was the best place for them to get a start on learning about Judaism and all the traditions. I really want them to have a nice circle of Jewish friends that they can grow up with- go to sunday school, hebrew school, and camp with. I love the fact that every week Sasha had Friday shabbot services and she learned how to recite the prayers and sing all the songs. They were taught hebrew, learned about the holiday's, and made hamantaschen for Purim.

I'm really going to miss that the most next year when Sasha goes to a different school.

I know that Sasha has made some really nice friends and her bestie this year has been Jada and her crush has been Max. I hope we can have a lot of play dates this summer so we don't forget about all the first friends Sasha has made.

what are you thinking about?

I often wonder what's going on in your head. What you are thinking and sometimes what you aren't thinking. I know your a smart girl because what comes out of your mouth is sometimes brilliant.

you are volatile, you are wild, you are out of control

you are sweet, kind, funny, and creative

you swear

you give nice kisses

you don't listen

you are cuddly

you throw fits

you calm yourself down

you are you and baby i never want to crush your spirit

Shopping at my favorite fabric store with sasha today has been challenging- she nearly got punched by the owner for cutting silk...duh, what's wrong with that???

Not a fun soccer game! It was really cold. Sasha still hasn't figured out what to do with the ball and has no interest in learning where to put it or how to get it there.

After Sasha's game we went over to the orono fields to watch lola's team play. We sit with all the parents and there has to be at least 200 people there watching. Sasha insists on dragging Mishka all over the place and we let her...not sure why??? Anyway, I happen to look over at her, she pulls down her pants and panties (yes on the field while a game is going on) sits down on the grass and pee's, stands up, pulls her stuff back on and continues to play with another little girl. We are all sitting there in disbelief! I can't believe it she has no boundaries!!!! That's what we love about her...i guess!

classy girls

What does takes to become a classy girl.

Is it about having a beautiful shoe collection or could it be about carrying a Chanel bag and wearing beautiful chiffon blouses.

I believe class comes from how confident you are and how happy you are with who you are.

Being classy is about having style but not dripping from diamonds or designers from head to toe.

Classy is being polite to others and by showing a genuine interest in who you are speaking with.

Classy is being well informed regarding lot's of current worldly events.

A classy girl is socially aware.

Treat those with a lower social status kind and friendly, don't look down, treat them like your equals rather then being superior.

A classy girl smiles and shines and doesn't walk around with a dark cloud over her head.

Never swear or say racist, homophobic, or otherwise bigoted comments.

Drunk ladies are not classy ladies. Stand straight, don't crack your knuckles, and chew gum quietly.

Classy ladies are not desperate for attention.

Never have greasy hair. It is gross and trashy.

Classy is standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

Don't hasty make judgments of other people.

Lying is ugly-and not appealing.

Be subtle, must know moderation is the key. Don't be flamboyant. A subtle woman has style but she doesn't look like she dresses like an ad. Dress sexy but not like a stripper. Be "LOW KEY."

So you see this is my version of classy. I do not always behave like a classy woman, I swear, I don't always take a shower and put myself together first thing in the morning but usually by lunch time I wash my face. I drink in public and sometimes I get a bit drunk. I wear short skirts, and shirts that show my cleavage. But I am always nice to people, I am never rude to wait staff, and I am stand up for anyone who needs a hand. I hope that others look at me and see a confident woman who has tried to live a modest life.

dame taylor

You never know where naked pictures of yourself will end up. As i've seen in the last 10+ years of all of the sex tapes being released and now nude pictures on smart phones being sent all over the place. Never trust anyone with any nude pictures of yourself...we will find out why now....This picture is of Elizabeth Taylor who posed naked for an engagement gift for one of her many hubbies. This was taken when she was 24 and the year was 1956. Her buddy and fellow actor Roddy McDowall toke the picture of her (which is odd because I just want to know how close of friends they really were? Anyway, her hubby died in a plane crash years after they were married and for some reason liz gave this picture to her assistant...SMART, HUH? That makeup artist/assistant/dog poop picker upper/slave sold the picture for i'm sure loads of money. Now this picture will be sold for millions more. DOH

Mosaic- St. Patricks Day

Tomorrow is St. Patricks day and even thou I am not Irish, I don't drink beer, and lepricons kind of freak me out. I still enjoy traditions and festivals. Here is some info I learned about St. Patricks Day.

St. Patrick wasn't even irish, he was british and he was born around A.D. 390 to aristocrats.

According to the author of St. Patrick of Ireland: A Biography.

At 16, Patrick's world turned: He was kidnapped and sent overseas to tend sheep as a slave in the chilly, mountainous countryside of Ireland for seven years.

"It was just horrible for him," Freeman said. "But he got a religious conversion while he was there and became a very deeply believing Christian."

St. Patrick's Disembodied Voices

According to folklore, a voice came to Patrick in his dreams, telling him to escape. He found passage on a pirate ship back to Britain, where he was reunited with his family.

The voice then told him to go back to Ireland.

"He gets ordained as a priest from a bishop, and goes back and spends the rest of his life trying to convert the Irish to Christianity," Freeman said.

Patrick's work in Ireland was tough—he was constantly beaten by thugs, harassed by the Irish royalty, and admonished by his British superiors. After he died on March 17, 461, Patrick was largely forgotten.

But slowly, mythology grew around Patrick, and centuries later he was honored as the patron saint of Ireland, Freeman noted.

St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shortage

According to St. Patrick's Day lore, Patrick used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the Christian holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Today, St. Patrick's Day revelers wear a shamrock out of tradition. But people in Ireland hoping to wear an authentic shamrock are running low on luck.

Trifolium dubium, the wild-growing, three-leaf clover that some botanists consider the official shamrock, is an annual plant that germinates in the spring. Recently, Ireland has had two harsh winters, affecting the plant's growth.

Other experts pin the shortage of the traditional plant as much on modern farming methods and loss of traditional hay meadows.

"The cold winters we are having here lately are just another nail in the coffin," a landscape and nature photographer whose books includeThe Wildflowers of Ireland, said via email.

To make up for the shortfall, many sellers are resorting to other three-leaf clovers, such as the perennials Trifolium repens and Medicago lupulina. According to the Irish Times, these plants are "bogus shamrocks."

Trinity College's Parnell agreed that Trifolium dubium is the most commonly used shamrock today, which lends credence to the claims of authenticity.

However, he added, the custom of wearing a shamrock dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries, and "I know of no evidence to say what people then used. I think the argument on authenticity is purely academic—basically I'd guess they used anything cloverlike then."

What's more, botanists say there's nothing uniquely Irish about shamrocks. Most clover species can be found throughout Europe.

No Snakes in Ireland

Another St. Patrick myth is the claim that he banished snakes from Ireland. It's true no snakes exist on the island today, Freeman said—but they never did.

Ireland, after all, is surrounded by icy ocean waters—much too cold to allow snakes to migrate from Britain or anywhere else.

Since snakes often represent evil in literature, "when Patrick drives the snakes out of Ireland, it is symbolically saying he drove the old, evil, pagan ways out of Ireland [and] brought in a new age," Freeman said.

The snake myth, the shamrock story, and other tales were likely spread by well-meaning monks centuries after St. Patrick's death, Freeman said.

"St. Patrick's Day was basically invented in America by Irish-Americans," Freeman said.

Eighteenth-century Irish soldiers fighting with the British in the U.S. Revolutionary War held the first St. Patrick's Day parades. Some soldiers, for example, marched through New York City in 1762 to reconnect with their Irish roots.

Just discovered this fabulous coloring book for fashionistas of all ages. You can buy it on amazon.com. It's illustrated by one of the leading fashion-illustrators who's work has been seen in Vogue, French Connection, Habitat, and many other publications.

My Wonderful World of Fashion: A Book for Drawing, Creating and Dreaming by Nina Chakrabarti

I can't wait to have a girly gift to buy- this will be a huge hit for any age artist. I find it so relaxing to color in color books with my girls, this is usually done at restaurants to help pass the time while anxiously waiting for our food to be delivered. Sometimes we (I) get so sad that the food comes before we are done with our project.
